n May 2018, Lekela made its final tranche of payments to members of the Taiba N’Diaye community.

The 158MW wind farm Lekela is building in Taiba requires the use of land owned by the local community, which is why a series of payments have been made in exchange. The land around each wind turbine can then continue to be used for farming or other purposes.
